It was developed by the company “Somua” (France) in 1934. Produced from 1935, serially. Tank was in the service with the French army. Participated in the defense of France in 1940, then in the service of the Wehrmacht.

Design Features
The base is original, the general layout is classical.
Armament. The gun and the machine gun have separate armored masks and are connected with a telescopic sight.
Protection.
The body consists of 6 main cast armored parts, connected by bolts. The nose has a spherical shape, the side parts are inclined. The turret is solid-cast, hexagonal. The undercarriage is protected with stamped screens.
Chassis. Engine carburetor, 4-stroke, 8-cylinder, liquid cooling. Transmission mechanical with 2-disc main friction clutch of dry friction, 5-speed gearbox. Suspension – mixed: from two 4-roller carts with leaf springs and one rear roller.
Entered the tank museum (Kubinka) during the Second World War.
