Design Features
The base is original, uniform for the AMX-13 series
General layout. The power and control compartment are in the front of the hull. The fighting compartment is pushed back.
Armament.
The mechanism of loading a gun of a drum type.
Protection.
The body is welded, made of riveted steel. The bow is cast, with a variable angle of inclination. The turret is swinging type (the lower part is cast, the upper one is welded) from rolled and cast parts with an elongated niche.
Chassis.
Engine – 8-cylinder, carburetor with a horizontal arrangement of cylinders, liquid cooling. Transmission mechanical. Suspension is individual, torsion, with hydraulic shock absorbers on the front and rear suspension units.
